The first training for the STEP Year I program was the Document Camera. Participants received a document camera to use in their classroom. The teachers had a great time use the document cameras, but administrators took the cake. During our session, the administrators worked as a team to connect and use document cameras! I think some of the participants were surprised about how easy it was to connect and use the document cameras. If you are unfamiliar with the document camera, it is a device that consists of a camera that is over a base. The camera is also connected to an data projector. The apparatus allows its user to project what is happening under the camera onto a screen or wall. Using a document camera, a science teacher can complete a lab exercise and have the process projected real-time so the class can see the procedure up close and personal.
